Dept of Homeland Security is hacking into Xbox, game consoles

The Department of Homeland Security is working on ways to hack into the Xbox, as well as other game consoles, to obtain whatever personal information they can from the devices. DHS plans to target overseas consoles to avoid Privacy Act issues related to US citizens.

Pastebin to hire people to police the site for sensitive information
Pastebin isn’t necessarily a website specifically for hacking groups to post huge dumps of information but it has definitely been embraced by that community. The site was intended to be a document dumping location as well as a nice place for programmers or writers to store text in order to access it later or share it. Due to all of the attention Pastebin has gotten from Anonymous and other hacking groups the company is going to hire people to monitor its servers.

Streaming video online is both convenient and either free or relatively inexpensive. The only issue are the annoying commercial breaks that most online services completely prevent you from skipping or fast forwarding through. Microsoft apparently has a solution to that problem and secured a patent for it.
Megaupload host doesn’t want to keep files
The US hosting company that is responsible for housing all of Megaupload’s files is heading to court. The company is arguing that since it isn’t getting paid for its services, they should no longer have to hold onto the files.
Hacktivists stole more than Cybercriminals in 2011
A recently released report by Verizon shows that the large majority of stolen information in 2011 was due to hacktivist groups not cybercriminals. Just two years ago the opposite was true, cybercriminal groups were behind record breaking data breaches resulting in large numbers of stolen customer records.

it appears that Blizzard underestimated the server capacity required to handle all the gamers, thus resulting in Battle.net servers being overloaded and taken offline at launch. In an interview between Forbes and CD Projekt CEO Marcin Iwinski, Iwinski said the truth is that DRM simply does not work. He said the main problem is that the copy protection is cracked within hours of the release of every game, not to mention the money and development wasted to implement it. Those with pirated versions also have a clean and more functional game!
