Samsung have unveiled their latest flagship Smartphone the Galaxy S III which Samsung claim builds on and extends the features offered by their previous best selling Galaxy S II. The release date for Europe has been set for 30th May with other countries to follow by the summer.

Tablet computers such as the iPad are rapidly eating into the multi-billion Dollar TV business, with an estimated 112.5m consumers expected to own one in the US by 2016, according to Forrester. Most people watch TV on a tablet to resolve “screen conflicts” where family members dispute over what’s on the main living room TV or to watch TV in a room/place which has no TV set.

It is no secret that Apple’s iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch have become strong mobile gaming devices. Millions of people use at least one of those devices to play some kind of game almost daily. The smart revolution is in full swing, but based on new research from IDC it’s only getting started. The firm says more than 1 billion web-ready smartphones, tablets, TVs, video game consoles and PCs will ship worldwide this year. That figure is expected to hit 1.84 billion by 2016.

Samsung’s upcoming LCD display making offshoot Samsung Display Co. may just be the first step in a broader strategy to grab LG’s top panel-maker spot and maintain a lead in global active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) panel shipments. According to IHS, the Korean manufacturer would stand to gain ground by merging the new company with Samsung Mobile Display Co. Ltd, which specializes in both AMOLED and LCD display technologies.

In an interview between Forbes and CD Projekt CEO Marcin Iwinski, Iwinski said the truth is that DRM simply does not work. He said the main problem is that the copy protection is cracked within hours of the release of every game, not to mention the money and development wasted to implement it.
