wd hd live media player

Pros:
excellent playback quality of bd data recorded and stored on an external hard drive
Cons:
unable to select audio language on some films.
Summary:
great affordable media player that enables hd quality playback of blue ray data stored on an external hard drive, with the only problem being that in some films you are unable to select the audio language required, however this may be overcome in selecting the appropriate software to rip the data to the hard drive, and what i mean by that is selecting a software that will give you the option of ripping the data in a selected language ( ie english).

Review Western Digital TV Media Player

Pros:
Inexpensive, upgradeable firmware, nice design, support for most file types
Cons:
No network connection, remote control
Summary:
The design of this mediaplayer is great. I use it together with a 32” LCD HD Ready TV which is almost 3 years old and it just looks very good. The sound on a Logitech Z-500 is as good as the sound of a Blu Ray on a Playstation 3. I only use MKV/H263 file types. It plays everything very smoothly. The device didn’t have any problems with files which were missing a few blocks. It didn’t give any errors while my pc did and even stopped playing. Iso-files work perfectly as well. In my opinion the remote control misses some essential buttons like one for subtitles. My conclusion is that this media player is a very good device for the price you pay for it.
