There are many differences between a notebook and a netbook. Just based on looks, a netbook distinguishes itself from a notebook by its small size and weight. The size of a netbook can vary between 5” and 13”. A notebook has a size of at least 13” and is much heavier than a netbook. Besides that, the performance of a netbook is much less than the performance of a notebook. A netbook is designed to browse the internet en perform some little tasks like listening to music or some word processing. It does not have the processor to carry out heavy tasks, while a lot of notebooks have high-performance capabilities. Netbooks also have small storage capacity, no optical drives like a DVD-player and most of the time a stripped down operating system like Windows XP or Linux. Netbooks are created for mobility and are most of the time used as addition to another laptop or desktop computer.
