Black Friday Blu-ray deals

Posted by Randomus

Black Friday is just a mere four days away, and some of you will brave frigid weather and throngs of shoppers to head out and look for deals. If you’re out looking for a snazzy standalone Blu-ray player for the holidays, then we’re here to help out and make some recommendations.

I’m going to list several different popular brick and mortar retailers in the United States, and will list the different models that are available for sale from those stores.

There are several stores omitted from the list, but some scanned ads have not been confirmed or are missing product details.

Let’s jump right into the list.

Best Buy

Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-ray player available for $199.99

Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player available for $249.99.

Samsung 5.1-Channel Home Theater System With Built-in Blu-ray Player for $599.99.

Best Buy also will have the Samsung 1080p upconvert DVD player for $49.99.

Circuit City

Circuit City has the Samsung BDP-1500 BD-Live for $199 (regular price $250),

Blu-ray/TV bundles:

Sony 40" 1080p LCD HDTV KDL40V4100 and Sony BDPS350 Blu-ray player available for $1,199.98.

Sony 46" 1080p LCD HDTV KDL46V4100 and Sony BDPS350 Blu-ray player available for $1,499.98.

Wal-Mart will offer a Magnavox 1080p Blu-ray player this Friday for just $128.  The company did not list model numbers, so it’s possible the models could range depending on stock and availability at different stores.

The Magnavox deal lacks DTS HD Master and Dolby TruHD, but the low price tag should appeal to customers who simply want a Blu-ray player for a lower price.  The Magnavox also has the ability to upscale regular DVDs up to 1080p quality.

Consumers looking for a higher-end Blu-ray model will be able to purchase the Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-ray player for $198 from Wal-Mart on Friday.

Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-ray Player for $199.99.

Several upconverting DVD players will also be available at Sears, with prices ranging from $49.99 to $69.99.

For U.S. military members or dependants, the AAFES will have the Sharp BDHP21U Blu-ray player available for $189.

Each store listed also has an assortment of Blu-ray movies available, with prices varying from $6.99 up to their regular retail price.

Remember that "Cyber Monday," the day for online retailer deals is on Monday, so you don’t necessarily have to fight the crowds if looking for a good deal.

It’s very possible I missed some good Black Friday sales, so if you find any other deals related to Blu-ray players or movies, please feel free to leave a comment.

Happy hunting!
