CD Freaks presents the Plextor PX-755A DVD Burner Review

To finish the week off, CD Freaks is proud to present a review of one of the latest DVD burners from Plextor, the PX-755A.  What makes this drive stand out is its 10x writing speed for DVD+R Double layer media, giving Plextor a lead over many other DVD writers with this media.  This drive also features 16x DVD±R, 6x DVD-R DL, 8x DVD+RW and 6x DVD-RW write speeds.  Like Plextor's other professional drives, this drive also features PowerRec for optimised writing speed, SecureRecording for creating password protected discs and PlexEraser for permanently destroying unwanted CD-R and DVD±R content.

Besides the extensive reading & writing performance tests, this review also covers the testing of Plextor's PlexTools Professional XL, which gives the user access to advanced media diagnostic features.  These tools also give the ability to turn on/off advanced features, including GigaRec, Silent Mode, SecuRec, SpeedRead and Buffer Underrun protection.  The retail drive ships with the full PlexTools Professional software and a trial version of PlexTools Professional XL.

Back in January, we published
a preview of the
drive
with a quick run through of a variety of DVD media.  To see how
this drive performs with extensive testing and how well it copes with its faster
10x DVD+R writing speed, which our reviewer and senior moderator Dee-27 has carried out, please head over to this page to read the full extensive review.  Once you have a look, feel free to leave any comments or ask questions about the review in this dedicated forum thread.
