Denon introduces another pricey Blu-ray player

Denon has introduced a new standalone Blu-ray player that offers owners everything but the kitchen sink, in what the company says is the world’s first high-end universal Blu-ray player.

The DVD-A1UCDI Blu-ray player is BD-Live ready and carries a whopping $3,800 MSRP price tag.  Denon expects to release the Blu-ray player in February.

Denon’s latest player is able to play Blu-ray discs, DVDs, CDs, and Super Audio CDs (SACDs), along with DVD audio discs.

Owners can connect the player via dual HDMI outputs, and it also has 7.1-channel audio jacks, and a Denon Link 4 HDMI connection. It’s being promoted as the only player that is able to decode every single Dolby and DTS formats created.

It’s ready for BD-Live data with a built-in ethernet plug and SD card slot for external memory storage.

Using Denon Link 4 — Denon’s proprietary digital audio transmission technology — it uses a real-time balanced trasmission to help keep external noise from disrupting the signal.  It can be used to help digital signals be sent without disruptions and jitters.

Most Blu-ray manufacturers are trying to focus on lowering prices to help get Blu-ray in more living rooms, but higher-end Blu-ray models haven’t had to slash prices as of yet.  For example, Denon is expected to continue catering to a very exclusive group of home video enthusiasts with deep pockets.

Most manufacturers are lowering their entry level prices. High end units never go down. We can still see high end CD player for a few thousand bucks!

As a self proclaimed audiophile/ movie critic and part time "Ufologist", I can only imagine how great watching Talledega Nights would be on this awesome player- especially with a set of top of the line Monster Cables and some performance enhancing drugs in my system!!!
