GristyMcFisty used our news submit to tell us that the fifth generation of the Apple iPod is well into development. According to Think-secret the new Apple iPods will be coming in a silver aluminium casing to match Apple’s Powerbook and Powermac computer range. The new iPods will be sporting Toshiba’s newest 80 Gigabyte mini hard drives. Along with the changes to the original Apple iPod, the iPod minis will be getting a storage boost with their capacity upgraded to 5GB as well as new colour schemes that will appear in early February.

> THIS MORNING”S Apple update is brought to you by the letter “I” and the number five. The Fifth generation iPod, according to the legally-embroiled chaps at ThinkSecret, is well underway. Thought to be sporting a silver aluminium case to match the range of PowerBooks and PowerMacs the company sells, the device will likely sport Toshiba”s latest 80GB, they say. The same report also details the new iPod Mini, which will get a bump to 5GB and some new colour schemes in early February.
