Of course Dolby's guide mainly focuses on questions about surround sound and tries to help consumers with their buying decision. At Dolby they believe that sound still plays a major roll in the consumer's high-definition experience. “What we need to remember is that audio is a large part of the experience,” said John Griffin, marketing director, Dolby Laboratories.
For example Griffin says movies like Harry Potter will "leap off the TV" when the sound is great. "For anyone who experiences the amazing quality of today’s entertainment in the right setting, and who wants to have a great setup for their home, it’s possible with just a few essential components: an HDTV display and HD service, a surround-sound system and some great HD entertainment," Griffin said to Home Media Magazine.
