Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the two days that kick off the holiday shopping season for U.S. shoppers, and while financial analysts expect a gloomy shopping season, high-definition TVs are expected to be a hot seller this year.

There also are numerous Blu-ray players available for sale, with prices expected to remain low until Christmas.

Even though Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the two days where prices are significantly slashed, analysts expect HDTV prices to remain low as more people begin to purchase new TVs.

iSupply analyst Riddhi Patel predicts 47" LCDs will be available for $800, 42" plasma sets for $500 and 32" LCDs for $400.

DisplaySearch estimates 40" LCD HDTV prices will fall by 31 percent in this current quarter, due to greater supply.

Consumers who don’t mind having a TV larger than LCD HDTVs will be able to find 64" DLP models for less than $1,000 on Black Friday and moving forward.

If Black Friday sales numbers are unimpressive, expect manufacturers to further slash prices to help spur sales during a sluggish world economy.  Name brand manufacturers often times do not cut costs as much as smaller companies, but vigilant searching can help reveal money saving deals.

Whether you’re going to brave the cold and long lines on Black Friday, or will place orders from the comfort of your own home on Cyber Monday, happy hunting!

To help aid your Black Friday shopping strategy, here are several Black Friday HDTV deal sites you can view.

It's a shame that the economy is where it is as for a 47" TV for 599 is a great deal and have been waiting to see it but heck I can't afford it now cause of the cost of food and bills on the rise and the paychecks are low.

Indeed. ditto. Not low enough for my wallet. I dont wanna plasma, and 1080 p in the 40" and up is still too much. Perhaps before the yr is up though >-)
