Integra has recently announced its new TDR-5.9 Audio/Video receiver. The new model expands the features of its predecessor DTR-5.8 which was a best-selling device.
DTR-5.9 has four HDMA v1.3a inputs that accept signals from Audio/Video sources such as 1080p digital video and Deep Color information. The new player has the ability to scale up standard definition analogue sources to 1080i. This successfully removes all the unwanted video artifacts thanks to Faroudja DCDi Edge Technology that it uses.
The device has DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby True HD decoding. The new model uses the Audyssey Dynamic 2EQ technology. This technology provides an extra-ordinary listening experience by optimising the loudspeaker system used at different volume levels.
The DTR-5.9 has a seven-channel amplifier delivering high power per channel; 90 watts into 8 ohms and 110 watts into 6 ohms. Integra products are well-known for their high current driving capabilities. This is due to the high-current power amplifiers in addition to the Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT) used in the devices. Thus Integra’s DTR-5.9 has high power capabilities along with noise reduction and smooth frequency responses in the 5Hz-100KHz range. The device also provides 40 radio presets that could be used for Sirius stations, AM or FM.
The new device satisfies all the needs of custom installers, but individuals could also buy the product and do a little setup themselves gaining all the marvelous features the device offers. Features such as an Ethernet and bi-directional RS232 ports in addition to dual IR inputs with three assignable IR code sets, make the device highly compatible with other control systems.
Integra DTR-5.9 is available at $800 price, which is very suitable for the capabilities it offers. Integra seems to be having a best-selling device once again!
