Over at
target=_new>DigiTimes, they are reporting Lite-On has announced their intent
to produce half-height HD-DVD burners, coming available sometime after
March of 2007.
|
DigiTimes says that even though Lite-On has made this
announcement, they still somehow enjoy a close business relationship with
Sony. Of course, Lite-On snagged the Philips-BenQ optical drive division a
while back, and Lite-On is now an OEM/ODM DVD burner maker for
Philips. Both Sony and Philips are involved heavily as key members of
the Blu-ray Disc Association.
