AACHEN, Germany–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MainConcept, a
worldwide leader in codec technology, today announced it has released version
3.0 of its award winning H.264/AVC video decoder to key OEM customers in the
broadcast, Hollywood, consumer electronics and software markets. This new
version offers significant speed and quality improvements to MainConcept
customers through supporting the DXVA hardware acceleration feature found in
premium graphics cards from ATI and nVidia. MainConcept has also added
architectural and processor specific optimizations in close collaboration with
leading semiconductor manufacturers. MainConcept also performed intensive
testing with H.264/AVC DVB-S2 streams to provide a smooth and error resilient
playback of digital TV signals sent by satellite. The new decoder also adds
support for leading audio formats like AAC and AC3 audio.
