Our friends from ZeroPaid have discovered that the current KaZaA 2.00 version already included code that could unleash a paid KaZaA version. The current files of KaZaA already include the graphics to be used when the paid version will be launched. The information is gathered by looking into the code and is not (yet) visible to normal users.
The paid service will be called KaZaA plus and the only advantage to be discovered now seems to be more search results (up to 3000). This is nothing new as e.g. KaZaA Lite already is able to do this, and some register tweaking will also allow you to do this.
As a follow-up to the article posted here, there appears to be even stronger evidence of this soon-to-come paid version of KaZaA, dubbed ‘KaZaA Plus’. Hidden in the KaZaA v2.0 executable are many instances of ‘plus’ features which might very possibly be related to a subscription-based service that Sharman, along with Altnet, is planning to initiate in the near future. Another explanation could be that Sharman Networks will release a separate, more advanced ‘plus’ upgrade version of KaZaA. Using Resource Hacker, I grabbed all the screenshots I could find regarding this.
