A survey conducted by C-News
news service, aimed at 1000 Japanese consumers aged 10-59 years old, showed that
they’re more interested in PlayStation 3 than Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console. The
latter is expected to be available in months, while PlayStation 3 is still about
a year away to hit the retail market, but already conquering fans.
The study reports that 60% of consumers were
preferably interested in PlayStation 3 as their next-generation console, 8% were
looking forward to buy Nintendo Revolution and a mere 2% would like to
invest on a Microsoft Xbox 360. Even with 30% undecided consumers,
PlayStation would still take the first spot in the survey.
Among the general fanatics which are lead
exclusively by the company name, there were consumers who choose
PlayStation 3 because it is likely to have a wider range of software
and to be technogically superior, as Blu-Ray support.
It is not too surprising that a survey conducted in
Japan appointed Sony PlayStation 3 as the top next generation console. Japanese
gamers are very loyal to Sony, and

the first week. Microsoft is likely to
launch a huge marketing campaign in Japan in order to address primarily the ones
who remain undecided. It will surely be a challenge for the three
companies.
