QPxTool: an opensource tool to test burned discs in Linux

One of the most discussed arguments here at CDFreaks is about the quality test (often referred as "scan") of burned discs. This test can be executed with various software, but most of these can run only on Windows Operating systems, and this is a rather big problem for Linux users. Even if it's possible to run software like CD-DVD Speed with Wine, it's certainly better to have a Linux specific software.

QPxTool is a tool suite for CD/DVD media. It contains:

QPxTool is the Linux way to get full control over your CD/DVD drives. It is the Open Source Solution which intends to give you access to all available Quality Checks (Q-Checks) on written and blank media, that are available for your drive.

Latest available version is QPxTool 0.6.1 released on 19.08.2007. A list of supported drives is also available.

QPxTool can be installed directly from repositories of major Linux distributions or it can be downloaded and installed manually from the developer website.
