performance, analog integrated circuits (ICs), today announced the SP8064, a new
photo detector integrated circuit (PDIC) designed for use in 16x DVD writers.
Like the previously announced SP8043, the latest PDIC is also compatible with
systems utilizing Philips DVD chipsets. The SP8064 supports DVD writing speeds
of 16x for +R, 12x for +RW, and 4x for dual layer media, with 48x write speeds
for CD media.
SP8064 Key Features (Typical)
- Eight gain settings plus power down mode
- 120MHz RF and fast channel bandwidth
- 6ns settling time
- 77dBm output noise
- 2V minimum output dynamic range
- 0.5ns maximum group delay
- 10mV maximum fast channel offset
- 16 pin clear mold flatpack (CFP) package
Pricing and Availability
The SP8064 is available now and is priced at $1.05
in 100,000 piece quantities. An evaluation board is also available to assist in
the evaluation of the SP8064. Product briefs and additional information on the
