26 Jul 12 18:14 by in category Software

Slysoft has been known to beat copy-protections for years know. Thanks to Slysoft many users around the internet have been able to backup their precious optical discs, which the recording and music industry tried to make impossible with copy protections.

Today we’ve learned that Slysoft has a new tool under development, which can be described as CloneDVD for Blu-ray. The software dubbed Slyce will have the following features:

  1. 37 languages supported*
  2. Directly open ISO’s and process them. NO need to mount the iso’s first!
  3. Open BDMV folders ripped to (external) harddrives
  4. conversion to mobile format(s) (currently have only seen .avi)
  5. 1:1 copy (BD25 to BD25, BD50 to BD50)
  6. Shrinking double layer discs to single layer size
  7. Video Hardware Acceleration support *
  8. Removing unwanted video clips streams*
  9. Selectively removing audio/subtitles from specific streams*
  10. Backup to BDMV folder, .ISO, or mobile format*
  11. Preview video titles*
  12. Chose if you wish to keep HD audio, or the CORE AUDIO ONLY*
  13. 10 different output size options*
  14. Built-in video preview with advanced controls: skip to prev. title, rewind, play, fast forward, skip to next title*
  15. Thumbail filled video slider with sliding arrow to chose playback startpoint*
  16. Video preview WITH AUDIO SUPPORT (currently subtitles are not shown in preview*
  17. Show/hide short titles, or with a duration shorter then x% of main titles*

Features that contain an asterisk are not final and can be changed later.  More information can be found in this thread on Slyce on Club Myce

The most interesting thing to keep an eye on is Cinavia removal. The plan is to add it as a Slyce feature if or when they have any success with it.

i want dual pass, not single pass like clonedvd which always has inferior quality when compared to DVD shrink

another option for dual pass is 'BD Rebuilder"

You must've stepped out of the stone age...DVDshrink is outdated and no longer supported and won't copy newer protection....so you need to get your info correct and up to date....

Legal or not this is a free market and capitalism. If they can't the industry- can't help the little guys then Slysoft will be there to do it.

Shrink doesn't need to bypass protection when DVDFab or AnyDVD can. I still use Shrink for forcing subs when needed. Not sure what CloneDVD can do, but Shrink always had a 2 pass option when Analysis checked as an option. I use DVD Rebuilder though for my encoding needs.
