face=Verdana>GristyMcFisty used our
face=Verdana>news submit to tell us that over in
Japan, the Xbox 360 is suddenly selling quite rapidly. Apparently,
they have a very popular Blue Dragon themed bundle for the gaming
platform, that sold out very quickly. You can take a look at the
bundle and the faceplate by

face=Verdana> This flurry of activity is occuring just before the
release of the PS3 in Japan, which seems odd, because
href="http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35240"
target=_new>according to the Inquirer, Microsoft has lately been
struggling to shift even 1,000 of the 360 units in a weeks time in Japan.

The article went on to mention that
Sony is set to ship some 500,000 PS3 gaming platforms to the United States.
According to the Inquirer, the bundle will include the Sony Entertainment
movie ”Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”. However, the unit will
not ship with a component cable, or HDMI hook-up ($49.99) to allow for
playback with the $599 device. U.S. games for the PS3 will be
$59.99 and the bluetooth enabled controllers (with unremovable batteries)
will go for $49.99.
