Japan, the Xbox 360 is suddenly selling quite rapidly. Apparently,
they have a very popular Blue Dragon themed bundle for the gaming
platform, that sold out very quickly. You can take a look at the

target=_new>according to the Inquirer, Microsoft has lately been
struggling to shift even 1,000 of the 360 units in a weeks time in Japan.

border=0> SURPRISING NEWS from Japan comes from stores selling the new Xbox 360 “Blue Dragon” bundle. 100,000 of the special edition consoles that come with a Blue Dragon faceplate, five miniature figures and the game Blue Dragon, have already sold out with another 90,000 on their way.According to 1up.com, one major
online retailer managed to sell out of their allotment in five minutes,
with others managing to last most of the day.

The article went on to mention that
Sony is set to ship some 500,000 PS3 gaming platforms to the United States.
According to the Inquirer, the bundle will include the Sony Entertainment
movie ”Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby”. However, the unit will
not ship with a component cable, or HDMI hook-up ($49.99) to allow for
playback with the $599 device. U.S. games for the PS3 will be
$59.99 and the bluetooth enabled controllers (with unremovable batteries)
will go for $49.99.

Sounds like a lot of money. I'll pass and save my money for a new PC in January. DirectX 10 and Quad-core, here I come !!!

Hmmm, you may be all set for DX10 and Quadcore, but game developers might not be... STOP PRESS... News just in, 3D Realms has decided to re-write Duke Nukem Fornever for DX10 Quadcore...this will however mean another 10 years delay... :+

Oh, I see we have a comedian among us. I'll have you know I've been waiting for that game for, well, it seems like forever. Duke rocks !!! You're right, Quad-core and DirectX 10 don't have alot written for them. However, many of the new games will -- like Alan Wake.

I was referring to the comments made in the article by the autor, Vladimir Cole: "If you're wondering why us round-eyes ain't gonna see a price break on the Xbox 360 this holiday, Japan might have something to do with it." Ain't me who's the bigot!

It not as if quad-core and DirectX 10 cards will suck at current games... I remember people trying to make the arguement against 64bit processors saying there was no software for it. While its true that 64bit software is hard to come by, they still ran 32bit faster than anything else out there. These arguments make it sound as if you're sacrificing the performance of current software by buying tech that can handle next-gen.

Not at all, it's just that the hardware won't perform to its top ability if the software doesn't take advantage of the hardware's advanced features.

Geez, Sony just keeps pushing me further & further away...even my kids are unimpressed by them. Well, at least this saves money for me to build a kickass gaming machine/htpc for the family.

surely this is madness. the whole point of this new gaming system is to welcome the dawn of a new gaming era: high definition. To make joe pay extra for the cables to allow people to do that seems insane, especially another $50.... I guess the average joe would just use composite cables, see no marked improvement over ps2, and still say its the dogs bollocks. Baaaaa

No HDMI cable included? Hell even my £30 Tevion DVD/DiVX player included a free HDMI cable. Cheapskates. Japanese people are very fickle about collectibles it would appear. You only have to look at the regular otaku out there. Just stick some crap on the box and say it's limited and they will buy anything.
