A new ISP in New Zealand offers access to geolocation blocked sites

A new ISP in New Zealand was launched May 4th.  It is called FYX and is a branch of an existing internet service provider called Maxnet.  The main purpose of the new ISP is to provide access for New Zealanders to services on the internet that are normally blocked due to location.  Netflix, Hulu, iTunes US and the BBC's iPlayer are all examples of sites that are restricted to certain countries.  This new "global mode"  service provider will give direct connections to such sites.

The ISP is offering two different payment plans, one of which has unlimited downloads, but costs 34 cents per gb plus the regular 34.95 per month fee.

There is some question on legality of the service, but it doesn't appear to break New Zealand law.  It will violate the terms of service set out by many sites that restrict access.
