Adobe's Acrobat Reader has critical security flaws

Adobe is to release emergency patches for Acrobat Reader following the discovery of two critical vulnerabilities that are already being exploited by hackers.

Malware specialist Kaspersky has confirmed that the exploits are particularly worrying in that they not only enable hackers to bypass Adobe's sandbox, permitting the execution of malicious code, but also bypass Windows' Data Execution Prevention and Address Space Layout Randomisation anti malware protective layers.

Adobe normally issues monthly updates but given the severity of these particular vulnerabilities and the fact that they are being actively exploited they've announced that the required patches will be released before the end of this week.
