24 May 12 20:15 by in category Memory cards

ADATA, a company well known for NAND flash memory products and DRAM modules has announced its new Premier Pro range of SDHC and SDXC memory cards featuring the Ultra-High Speed class rating (UHS-I). With a UHS compatible device, these cards can deliver up to 95MB/s read and 45MB/s write.

They designed to be X-ray proof, magnet proof, resistant to extreme temperature ranges (-25C to +85C) and have Error Correcting Code (ECC) to protect the data. With a UHS compatible camera, these cards will able to deliver much faster buffer clearing, allowing the photographer to take more frequent bursts of photos.

The range come in a choice of 16GB and 32GB for SDHC and 64GB for SDXC. When used in a non-UHS compliant device, they will function in Class 10 mode and are capable of delivering up to 23MB/s write and sustaining a minimum write speed of 10MB/s.

Time for all electronic devices to begin offering SDXC (and micro) slots in their devices w/ the requisite backwards compatability. From cameras to tablets, to dekstop/laptop computers, printers, blue ray drives, big screen tv's, etc..

Will 2013 be the year of SDXC?
