Adobe fixes serious vulnerability in Flash - recommends to update ASAP

Adobe has released a security patch for an issue with Flash that leaves users vulnerable for hacks after visiting popular websites like Ebay, Tumblr and Twitter. The patch is released for systems running Windows, Mac and Linux and fixes a vulnerability allowing malware developers to change the contents of Flash files.

By changing the contents of the Flash files, malware developers would be able to take control of the affected system. So far this is only in theory as no real attacks abusing the vulnerability  have been reported yet. Previously sites like Tumblr and Twitter already patched their sites to prevent abuse of the Flash vulnerability.

The update to Flash should ensure that the vulnerability can't be abused in any way anymore. Adobe has given the leak its highest threat level and recommends users to install the update as soon as possible.
