Antivirus company ESET hacked - user details compromised

Antivirus software vendor ESET has sent out an e-mail to its members that their forum has been hacked. User details of the 2,700 members of the forum have been compromised including usernames and hashed forum passwords.

The company recommends all forum users to change their passwords and has launched a 'full-scale investigation'. ESET stresses that no financial and sensitive data has been compromised.

It's not uncommon for antivirus software vendors to be target of hackers, recently also Avast was in the news. Hackers compromised data of its 40,000 forum members.

Eset is world's fourth largest antivirus software company and best known for their NOD32 software. The company has 800 employees and is headquartered in  Bratislava (Slovakia).
