Rumors have swirled for months about what the next iPad iteration will include. We even put together our own wish list. Today, an image of what may be the iPad 2 is making the rounds courtesy of a Mac-centric tech blog. Does it feature a higher resolution and fix the glare issues?
9to5mac.com posted the images - which you can view here - yesterday, comparing the original iPad with the alleged 2.0 model side-by-side. The new model appears slimmer, and the site reported that it's noticeably lighter as well.
The shots alone do not provide information about what everyone wants to know: if the screen resolution is higher. Yahoo writes that a reader looked up the panel's ID number and discovered it was the same as the original iPad's 1024x768 display. However, it's also worth noting that the iPad 2 has yet to be officially announced by Apple. Until it lets the cat out of the bag, file this as "rumor/pipe dream." But if this is a hoax, it's quite an elaborate one.
We'll update this story if Apple offers a comment.
