Asus is specifically targeting gamers with their Republic of Gamers products, and has announced a new addition to its line up on CES. The company hasn't been active in the Solid State Disk market yet but now has announced its first, the Asus RAIDR Express that is part of the Replublic of Gamers line up. This drive has to go into a PCI Express slot instead of connecting it through a SATA cable which should, theoretically, bring higher performance.
Unfortunately Asus hasn't released any details on the drive yet so we don't know how fast it will be, nor do we know when it will be released and at what price. Nevertheless we didn't want to withhold you the news as it sure doesn't look like your average SSD.
