Australian digital pirates face to be disconnected from the internet

In Australia you were pretty safe as a digital pirate, but TheAustralian reports that it's coming to an end as ISPs, copyright owners and consumer advocates are about to close a deal on fighting piracy. The deal was delayed due to a lost case of the American movie industry in the Australian High Court, where it asked for Australian ISPs to become liable for copyright infringement of their customers.

But now an agreement seems under way and that could mean that Australian internet users who download and share illegal copies of movies, software and music systemically  would receive warnings to stop or face sanctions including, potentially, service disconnection.
