According to Torrentfreak the Russian ministry of Economics started an investigation in Juli this year. The investigators found that on several PCs of Roscomnadzor illegal software was used. On several PCs they found software from Autodesk, Corel and Microsoft. Also Photoshop editions without the required Adobe licenses were found on the PCs. In total the illegal software would have a value of thousands of dollars. The investigators seized five PCs.

The anti-piracy organisation claims that the software was installed years ago and that no illegal software was found on computers of its executives, it also stated that it has now disabled the possibility for employees to install software themselves. The timing of the news is very inconvenient for Roscomnadzor, the Russian authorities just have put stricter copyright laws in place this month, partly at the insistence of Roscomnadzor.

The anti-piracy organisation has stated it will accept any punishment and that the responsible employees can expect sanctions.
