Oh boy, it seems like everyone and their mother has an opinion on Windows 8. Unfortunately for Microsoft, all of them are pretty negative,if not retracted for some reason. Yesterday Gabe Newell, the CEO of Valve, who used to work on Windows for Microsoft shed his light on Windows 8 and called it catastrophic, today another big shot of the game industry gave his two cents.
Rob Pardo, executive vice president of game design at the Diablo 3 studio used Twitter to share that he agreed with the Valve's Gabe Newell. His Tweet, which partly quoted Newell said: "I think Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space* - not awesome for Blizzard either".
Unfortunately that was all and no further explanation was given. Most likely Blizzard is afraid of its margins. Windows 8 will have a Windows Store, a way to install applications like Google Play / Apple App Store. This could restrict software vendors to sell software directly, and where Microsoft will take 30% commission of each sale made through this store.
