The first jailbreak for iOS8 and iOS 8.1 has been released. The jailbreak doesn't install Cydia on jailbroken devices because the alternative app store isn't compatible with the latest version of iOS.
The jailbreak, developed by the Chinese PanGu, is therefore mainly interesting for developers that want to make their jailbreak-apps compatible with iOS 8. The jailbreak tool is currently only available for Windows and the developer has stated that an OSX version will follow, but not in the near future. The jailbreak tool is currently also only available in Chinese but an English version will become available within a couple of days.
It's the first jailbreak for iOS 8 and 8.1, several developers are currently working on it but the Chinese were also the first with an iOS 7 jailbreak. It's expected the hackers waited till the release of iOS 8.1 to see if the used exploits were still available. Aple released iOS 8.1 last monday. The jailbreak is compatible with all devices running iOS.
