Dell gets stylish with Inspiron Zino HD PCs

Dell's Inspiron Zino HD computers are beefier than your average nettop, and they look nice enough that you'll want to clear out some room on your desk.

Dell hasn't quite announced the Zino HD in the United States yet, but the computers' Ireland and U.K. Web sites have already gone live, with specs and sporty pictures. The basic model, which sells for £299 in the United Kingdom, includes a 1.6 GHz AMD A64 2650E processor running 64-bit Windows 7, with 2 GB of memory, a 320 GB hard drive and a DVD drive on board. Black is the standard color, but as you can see from the photo below, several colors and patterns are available for a little extra.

The graphics chip is an integrated HD 3200, though it seems you can opt for an ATI Radeon HD 4330 512MB for no extra charge. Either way, it seems that the Inspiron Zino HD has a mind for entertainment, with an HDMI jack and optional Blu-ray drive. The unit measures 7.8 inches long and wide and 3.4 inches thick.

With Windows 7's Media Center, a program that's formatted for remote control, it'd be nice to use the Inspiron Zino HD as a set-top entertainment unit. That said, it's disappointing that there's no TV tuner on board, though you could plug one in through one of the computer's two USB ports. It'd also be nice to see a remote control thrown in, but I don't even see an air mouse listed as an add-on.

I'm guessing the computer will cost about $400, maybe a little more, when it's announced stateside.
