DVD-Ranger releases CinEx HD 6.0.2.0 - despite DVDFab event

The developers of DVD-Ranger informed us today they’ve released version 6.0.2.0 of their Cinavia circumventing software and added several new database files. The developers mention the recent DVDFab events in their changelog. The reference to the seizure of the DVFab.com domain by the AACS-LA is pretty relevant.

Cinavia is mandatory on Blu-ray players since 2012 and licensed by the AACS LA. After the recent DVDFab domain seizure several companies changed their plans or product line up to avoid being closed down by the AACS-LA.

DVD-Ranger doesn't seem impressed while their software circumvents a copy protection licensed by the AACS-LA.  They write,  "A new version of DVD-Ranger CinEx HD is available. Despite the events of this week, we released a new DVD-Ranger CineX HD version. We can say this is the best version of the DVD-Ranger ever."

Whether this really is the best DVD-Ranger ever, we'll leave up to you, but here is the changelog which fixes some bugs and adds a new audio output modus.

  • Fixed problem where files > 2GB have invalid media and codec information.
  • Fixed verify problem where files > 2GB cause a crash.
  • Updated BD-R writing
  • ‘No Video DVD found’ issue fixed.
  • Because of the high demand, we have added in the audio output modus the Opus codec.
  • Increase quality and processing speed.

Besides these changes to the software also the databases for the Smurfs, Austenland, Battle Of The Year,  Grown Ups 2 and  21 Jump Street have been added and cross mapping for Smurfs 2 UK, Smurfs DE, Meatballs 2 UK, Django UK.

Downloads and more information can be found on the DVD-Ranger website. More information about Cinavia can be found in our article about the Cinavia Blu-ray Watermarking copy protection.
