Electronic Arts DRM blocks gamers after 5 hardware changes

DRM technology from Electronic Arts makes it impossible to play the PC version of the game Battlefield:Hardline for 24 hours  when an user installs the game on more than 5 different PCs and also if more than 5 hardware components are replaced.

When testing the game with 5 different graphic cards, an user found that he could not longer play Battlefield:Hardline. The game showed a notification that his account was blocked, making it impossible to play the game.

The block lasts 24 hours per game activation. EA has confirmed that accounts of its online game platform Origin are blocked when the game is installed on more than 5 PCs within 24 hours and advizes users that want to extensively test the game on multiple configurations should contact customer support.
