Elitebytes releases VeloSSD 2.1.0.3 - adds Windows 8.1support

Our German friends from Elite Bytes have released a new version of their SSD disk caching solution VeloSSD. The version number has been increased to 2.1.0.3 and it adds compatibility with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 R2. You can use VeloSSD to speed up your PC by using a SSD as a cache. The software will monitor your system for frequently used files and makes sure they are stored on the fast SSD.

Files that are accessed less frequently are stored on a slower storage medium, like a HDD.  Especially when you combine the software with a small SSD it's a relative cheap way to considerably boost the performance of your computer. You will get faster boot and awake times and cached applications will start up faster.

VeloSSD has support for up to 128 TB host volumes and it compatible with BIOS, UEFI and Secure Boot.  You can download a free trial version here.

SSD caching might become less popular while SSDs become cheaper, but also the large SSD giants have caching technology. Samsung recently bought SSD caching developer Nvelo and Intel has it's own Smart Responsive Technology.
