FBI raiding homes of suspected Anonymous hacking group members

It appears the FBI is finally fed up with the hacking shenanigans of Anonymous.   Tuesday morning, July 19, the FBI began executing search warrants on suspected members of the hacking collective.  The warrants called for all computers and computer related equipment to be turned over.

Fox News is reporting that more than 10 FBI agents showed up at the home of Giordani Jordan in Baldwin N.Y. on Tuesday morning.  Jordan was presented with a warrant for all of his computers and related accessories.  At least one laptop was taken from Jordan's home.  Jordan's computer was allegedly used in DDOS attacks on various companies.  Warrants were also presented at two homes in Long Island N.Y.

More search warrants are being executed nation wide.  The San Francisco FBI field office is reportedly serving warrants in California and FBI agents are also raiding homes in New Jersey and Florida today.  Alicia Sensibaugh, spokesperson for the San Francisco FBI field office, told Fox News"I can confirm that we’re conducting law enforcement actions relating to a criminal investigation.” Fox claims that many of the suspects in these states were actually arrested instead of simply having their property seized for investigation.

It seems that the total number of suspects being investigated is at least a dozen and all of them are in their late teens to early twenties.

Other countries have done sweeps and investigated members of Anonymous and LulzSec recently.  London police arrested an alleged member of LulzSec back in June and alleged members of Anonymous have also been arrested there.  Early July brought more arrests in both Italy and Switzerland of alleged members of LulzSec.

It seems like Anonymous has finally gone far enough to provoke the FBI's full attention and wrath.  Let's see what kind of evidence turns up to support alleged ties to the hacking groups and what kind of punishment is dolled out.
