A fresh installation of Windows 8 contains about 20 Metro applications that are automatically installed by Microsoft. Pre-installed software (or bloatware) is a frequently used marketing tool by PC manufacturers and software vendors. By pre-installing trial or limited versions they hope users will purchase a full version, normal versions are installed in the hope users will like them and continue to use them.

Although not many users actually use Metro applications, the applications do take up hard disk space and ask for updates in the Windows Store.

Both good reasons to get rid of the bloatware but manually removing them is a time consuming task. The software 'Windows App Remover' comes to the rescue and allows you to remove all those pre-installed applications with an easy click on a button.

First you need to select your Windows version in a listbox on the top left, then click the 'List Apps' button. Then you can select the applications you want to remove and with a click on the yellow Remove Apps button you can say goodbye to those unwanted Metro applications.
