Google is up to something - all Android issues removed from Chromium issue tracker

Google appears to have delisted all Android issues that were posted in the Chromium issue tracker. The move comes one day after we leaked the debug icon of the upcoming Android Lollipop release but we don't expect it to be related. The Chromium issue tracker lists issues found  during development of the open source browser Chromium on which Google's Chrome browser is based.

Issues are reported by users and Chromium developers which are often developers coming from companies like Google, Samsung, Opera and Nvidia.

Although the event occurs close after the we've leaked the Android Lollipop debug icon, we don't expect it's related. There are very strong rumors indicating that Google will announce the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 tonight, likely together with Android L. Google also doesn't appear to have removed the Android issues but hast just made them temporarily unavailable, pages containing Android issue state: 403 Forbidden.

The development of both Android and Chromium can be followed online. Besides the source code, Google has also put up an infrastructure that gives anyone interested the possibility to see code reviews of developers and the issues that are reported with the software. Nevertheless, what Google exactly releases is always a surprise, the source code of Android that's open source is called  Android AOSP and Google also has its own version of Android, based on AOSP. Also Chrome isn't exactly Chromium, Google also adds its own features to the browser.
