Things are set to get hot under the collar for Sony’s PlayStation 3, with Japan’s DDM.tv to offer on-demand adult movies in high definition.

anime

Digital Media Mart is utilising BD Live to stream films and television shows to the PlayStation 3, with the possibility of extending the service to other compatible devices. The Blu-ray disc is free for Japanese consumers, but content is charged. It costs ¥500 ($5.25) to stream in standard definition and ¥1480 ($15.55) to stream in high definition.

Before downloading the movies, users must log onto the DMM.tv Blu-ray website and select titles. At least 1500 titles will be available, focusing mainly on anime, but Digital Media Mart is also offering access to its catalogue of adult movies, including delights such as Yuma Asami and the 100 Masturbaters.

Wouldn't porn be one of those things where standard definition is much preferable to high definition?
