Intel to launch 'August Ridge' 750 series PCIe SSDs in Q4

Intel is about to release their 750 series PCI Express SSDs,  a line targeted at high end and professional users. The website KitGuru reports that the drives should be codenamed "August Ridge" and will use 20 nm MLC NAND. The drives will be available in as M.2 cards as well as PCIe cards.

The drives will become available in capacities of 180GB, 240GB, 360GB, 480GB and 600GB. According to Kitguru the drives have a specified sequential read speed of up to 1500 MB/s and 1100 MB/s write speeds. When it comes to 4K random writes, the drives should be able to achieve 180,000 IOPS for reads and 124,000 IOPS for writes. It's expected that the drives will become available in Q4 this year.
