Isobuster 3.2 released - adds undelete for Windows 8 and below

Isobuster 3.2 is now able to deal with deleted files and folder on the widely used NTFS file system. Peter van Hove, author of Isobuster sent an e-mail informing us that a new version of Isobuster has been released.

Isobuster can be used to recover data on optical media that has deteriorated  but it can also recover data  from HDDs, SSDs, or memory cards that are damaged or from which you deleted data that you want to recover.

With the latest update the version number is increased to 3 2. The major improvement of the software is that it now deals with deleted files and folders on NTFS, a file-system used by all Windows versions since Windows XP. The software acts as undelete functionality, which means it can recover recently deleted files.

This is possible due to the fact that when you delete a file the contents aren't actually removed from the storage medium. Instead the file-system deletes the reference (link) to the data. Isobuster is able to restore the link and the file becomes accessible again as long as it hasn't  been overwritten.

The software is so sophisticated that it's also used by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. More information and downloads can be found on the Isobuster homepage.
