Posted 05 January 2017 08:43 CET by Jan Willem Aldershoff

Kingston has announced a new USB flash drive that comes in capacities up to 2TB and supports USB 3.1 gen 1. The manufacturer claims that the┬áDataTraveler Ultimate Generation Terabyte (GT) is world’s highest capacity USB flash drive.

The drive is made from zinc-alloy and measures 72mm x 26.94mm x 21mm. The DataTraveler Ultimate GT is available in both 1TB and 2TB. Transferring data should be fast due to the USB 3.1 gen. 1 connector but Kingston hasn’t disclosed any performance specifications.

This drive is the successor to the HyperX Predator which was available in capacities of 512GB and 1TB and costed about $1200 at launch.

The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT will ship in February 2017 for an currently unknown price.
