Google is in talks with LG to let the Korean electronics giant manufacturer the next Nexus smartphone, according to the South Korean website eToday. The most recent Nexus phone, the Nexus 6, was manufactured by Motorola.
According to eToday, several Google employees have been in talks with LG in South Korea. They allegedly talked about a new Nexus smartphone codenamed 'N000'. The website doesn't have any further details but speculates the new phone could be called 'Nexus 7'. That would be remarkable because Google already sold two tablets, made by Asus, under the same name.
LG previously made Google Nexus devices. The company manufactured both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. Traditionally Google uses a different hardware partner for each next Nexus device.
