LG has introduced a new external hard drive that is pleasing to the eye and offers a high storage capacity, aimed for PC enthusiasts who want an external HDD that isn’t a complete eye sore.
The XF1 is a USB 2.0 device that has an HDMI out and can play content directly to an HDTV in 1080i format. The HDD also has touch sensitive buttons, while having support for DivX, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.
The XF1 is available in 320GB or 500GB storage capacities, and is extremely snazzy looking. I’ve written about several different external HDDs that offer regular storage ability, though manufacturers are now more focused on creating customized external products.

LG hasn’t released pricing or launch date information, though it is expected in the next few weeks. I’m going to contact LG on Monday to try and learn more about the XF1 HDD, so I’ll let you know if I hear back from company officials.
I know I’ve seen complaints on the CDFreaks forums by several members who said they don’t like the look of many external HDDs. If this drive is competitively priced, is it something you’d be interested in purchasing?

Hard Disk Drives
Traditional hard disk drives still offer the most storage capacity for a rather affordable price. Combined with very acceptable reading and writing performance, hard disk drives are the primary source of data storage found in most PCs and laptops nowadays. If you're unsure which hard disk drive to buy, you might want to look for that drive that offers the lowest money/storage ratio.
