Microsoft announces another preview of Windows 8

According to the Building Windows 8 official Twitter site, Microsoft is preparing yet another preview of their next operating system.  Announced at Japan's Windows Dev Days, there are few details available regarding  changes made from the previous Consumer Preview which was released  in April.  This new look at the operating system is scheduled for the first week in June.

Reactions to the Metro interface that has been introduced with Windows 8 have been mixed.  For those who dislike Metro on the desktop, there is at least faint hope that this new preview will restore the option of turning off Metro on non-touchscreen desktops as was seen on the original Developer Preview eight months ago.  In any case, this should be the last preview of the operating system and should also be quite close to the configuration that will be seen in the final version, scheduled for release in October.
