Microsoft gives you free Dell laptop if it can't upgrade your PC to Windows 10

Microsoft will give a free 15" Dell Inspiron Notebook to anyone with a Windows 10 compatible computer on which Microsoft store technicians are unable to upgrade to the operating system. The move is another attempt to convince users to upgrade to the company's latest OS.

In order to be eligible users have to go to a Microsoft retail store in the United States and Canada with a PC that is capable of running Windows 10. The computer has to be provided to the store's technicians before noon. If the Microsoft store technicians are unable to complete the Windows 10 upgrade that business day, you will receive a 15" Dell Inspiron Notebook.

If your PC isn't compatible with Windows 10, Microsoft will recycle it and give you $150 toward the purchase of a new PC. The fine print states that to be eligible for that the computer has to be fully functioning, can not be password protected, should not have its warranty seal broken and last but not least, should be running Windows 8(.1), so Windows 7 users are out of luck.

Both offers run till the 29th of July, the day that the upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 is no longer free.
