Microsoft no longer sells Lumia smartphones from its own online store

Microsoft no longer sells its Lumia smartphones in its own webstore, some models are still listed but they all have the status 'out of stock'. It's unclear whether the Redmond technology giant will make new stock available.

Lumia phones are not only no longer available in the U.S. webstore, also in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom the phones are out of stock. In some countries Microsoft still sells the HP Elite X3 and also Windows 10 smartphones of other brands such as Acer and Blu.

On Amazon, NewEgg and many other retailers, Lumia phones like the 950 XL are still in stock.

It was already rumored for some time that Microsoft would stop selling  its Lumia phones. The sales of Microsoft's smartphones have disappointed since their introduction. Last year Windows 10 Mobile accounted for less than 0.3% of all smartphones sold.
