Microsoft reaffirms it's committed to Windows 10 Mobile - continues to make new phones

Microsoft will continue to produce new Windows smartphones, according to a slide the company disclosed during a presentation at its Ignite conference. The company has been very unsuccessful with its mobile operating systems so far. Currently Windows smartphones account for less than 1% of all smartphones.

During the presentation a slide was shown with a quote from Windows Vice President Terry Myerson who stated in May this year, "We always take care of our customers, Windows phones are no exception. We will continue to update and support our current Lumia and OEM partner phones, and develop great new devices".

Despite the reaffirming that Microsoft will continue to make new Windows smartphones, the company didn't reveal anything about news phone. Especially the new alleged Windows mobile flagship smartphone, the Surface Phone. This device, or series of devices, will be able to run Win32 app through Windows Continuum and should become available in the first half of 2017.

Whether this device will become the first, so much needed, successful Windows 10 Mobile phone, the future will tell.
