Microsoft releases first major Windows 10 update, brings the OS to Xbox One

Microsoft has released the first large update for Windows 10. The company is rolling out the update to all regular users, previously it was only available to Windows Insiders. At the same time Microsoft is bringing Windows 10 to the  Xbox One.

The large Windows 10 update brings many improvements. Microsoft claims that after the update Windows 10 will boot 30% faster than Windows 7 on the same device. The update brings several new features to Cortana, and the Edge browser should now be more secure and should perform better. Microsoft has also added tab preview to the browser which shows a preview of the website you have open in a tab when you hover over it.

Edge will now also sync favorites and the reading list across your Windows 10 devices and Cortana will show coupons when visiting several online retailers with Edge.

Microsoft has also made improvements to apps like Mail, Calendar, Photos, Groove, Xbox, Store, OneNote and Solitaire.

The update also brings additional possibilities for enterprises. It allows system administrators to create groups of devices within their organizations and rollout updates to devices by group. Using the service, it's also possible to specify at which times devices shouldn't update to make sure they are unavailable during critical business hours. System administrators also get the possibility to specify which apps users are allowed to install, or even have to install.

Microsoft also brings Windows 10 to its Xbox One console. After the console runs Windows 10 it's possible to play more than 100 Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One.
