The website Nokia PowerUser posted a letter yesterday which Nokia has sent to its suppliers explaining the change in name. For suppliers this is important so they can change the billing name on their invoices accordingly.

In the letter the company explains that Microsoft plans to rename Nokia to Microsoft Mobile and that it will become a daughter company of Microsoft. The Nokia name will not be lost entirely, Microsoft Mobile will license the Nokia name to continue to use it for mobile equipment, which might be mobile phones and accessories.

This Friday the acquisition of Nokia should be completed by Microsoft. The software giant from Redmond will take-on 32,000 Nokia employees and it will continue to manage the Nokia's online activities for at least a year.

From the old Nokia only a few parts will be left, the map service Here will continue to exist independently and will likely have Microsoft as its largest licensee.
