Microsoft reports cheapest Windows 10 Enterprise edition will cost $7 per month

Microsoft today announced that Windows Enterprise will become available in two subscription based versions, Windows 10 Enterprise E3 and Windows 10 Enterprise E5. The company reports that the E3 version will cost $7 per month per user, E5 pricing has not been disclosed yet. The Windows 10 Enterprise E5 version will be Windows 10 Enterprise E3 with Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection for additional security.

Using E with a number is not new, Microsoft also sells Office 356 E1, E3 and E5.

"To further simplify our offerings, we are standardizing packaging offers across Office 365, Windows 10 Enterprise and the Enterprise Mobility + Security suite. Moving forward you will see E3 and E5 offerings for each of these products," Julia White, general manager of cloud platform at Microsoft, wrote in a blog post.

The Redmond software giant announced the new monthly prices during its Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto. Partners can sell licenses through the Cloud Solution Provider channel later this year. E3 should become available in autumn this year, E5 should follow later.
